UBC Faculty of Medicine (UBC FoM) and Fraser Health Authority (FH) are working in partnership to assist the Province of British Columbia in ensuring that British Columbians have equitable access to quality health care by training larger numbers of Physical Therapists (PTs) and Occupational Therapists (OTs). UBC FoM is expanding existing UBC Master of Physical Therapy (MPT) and Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) to the Fraser region, an area of rapid population growth identified as among the most underserved by PTs and OTs in the province.
With support from the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training (AEST), UBC has purchased space in the City Centre 1 (CC1) building in Surrey, BC. The building is undergoing renovations to accommodate the space needs for the distributed Fraser region MOT and POT programs and will include teaching laboratories and multi-purpose space, seminar rooms and break-out rooms, student learning commons, research labs and offices for new faculty, and administration workspace.
