Metro Vancouver’s Watering Restrictions come into effect on May 1, 2024

Stage 1 of Metro Vancouver’s Lawn Watering Regulations will be in effect from May 1 to October 15, 2024. Both residential and non-residential watering is only allowed once a week.

Parm Ubhi promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer in Energy & Water Services

Paramvir Ubhi has been promoted to Assistant Chief Engineer in Energy & Water Services for UBC’s two thermal energy plants as of April 15.  Parm will assist Jason Rako, Chief Engineer, in supervising the safe and efficient operation of the Campus Energy Centre and the Bioenergy Research and Demonstration Facility.

Water dispensing and filtration equipment

Drinking water on the UBC Vancouver campus comes from Metro Vancouver’s water system, and is regularly tested to maintain high-quality drinking water. But if a faculty/department would like to order third-party water dispensing and filtration equipment, this order and ongoing maintenance or refills would be customer-funded.
