Catherine Alkenbrack holds architecture degrees from the University of Waterloo and UBC and has consulted for Canadian and new international universities on an array of early strategic formation and facilities planning projects.
In her time at UBC, Catherine has worked to develop early project planning models for capital facilities and renovations that link academic and research needs, broader campus requirements and equitable capital prioritization processes. Working as a consensus-builder, Catherine has helped clarify for project constituents the intricacies of mandatory provincial university space standards, increasingly complex project funding pro forma, and humane, yet highly functional and equitable learning, research and administration environments. Her commitments encourage the development of constructive academic and research cross-disciplinary synergies.
