About Us

Infrastructure Development is responsible for the planning, development, renewal, and renovation of campus facilities at both UBC Vancouver campus and Okanagan campus. We collaborate with campus stakeholders to create great spaces for people to teach and learn, conduct leading edge research, and enjoy the life of the campus community.

Organization

To achieve our mission we are comprised of four inter-related groups that work closely with development partners across the UBC community, such as the Provost and Vice-President, Academic Office, UBC Sustainability, and the University Neighbourhoods Association, to provide stewardship for all institutional facilities projects.

Capital Planning & Strategic Project Development

 


Develops the overall Capital Plan for growth and renewal of UBC facilities, prepares business cases for major projects and maintains facilities information critical for government financial support and planning and development of the campus.

 

Facilities Planning

 


Provides planning services to optimize the use of space within campus facilities including preliminary engagement and visioning processes, master plans and functional programs, schematic designs and feasibility studies.

 

Project Services

 


Manages the planning, design, construction, and commissioning of facilities renewal, renovation and upgrade projects ranging in size from $50,000 to $100 million.

 

Project & Planning Business Systems

 


Provides integrated administration, finance, IT planning and integration, and human resources support for the overall Infrastructure Development team.
